Day 10: Create Accessible PDFs from Word Documents
PDFs can get a bad rap when it comes to being accessible. Today we will share how to create an accessible PDF from a Word document you already have.
Simply follow these steps:
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Choose a Word document.
- Open the “Microsoft Accessibility Checker.”
- Identify and resolve all accessibility issues.
- You are ready to save it as an accessible PDF.
- On the “File” tab, select “Save As.”
- Select “PDF.”
- Select the check box for “Best for electronic distribution and accessibility.”
- Select “Save.”
